As clan members - it's critical we be individually ready for war. This means:
- Your Heros (both if applicable) available for both war attacks (RED Badge if not - or get Leader/Co-Leader permission)
- You are available to get your first attack in within the first 6 hours of war, and both attacks in during war. (Demotes or Suspensions as warranted by Leader/Co's)
- Your base is capable of withstanding attacks by your TH Equal. Bases that consistently get run over, and have basic defects are not appropriate. (Exclusion from war, demotes, suspension as warranted by Leader/Co's)
- Your War CC request is appropriate and not 'generic'. No "Any", "Whatever", or asking for weak troops inappropriate for your CC storage level.
- Ability to perform war attacks consistent with your TH Level. That means:
- Ability to Draw out and kill enemy cc for many attack styles
- Attack style that is appropriate for your TH level. (Absolutely no Barch Attacks, or Lvl3 Drag attacks on a TH9, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to perform a war-style attack in regular game & share it with the clan.
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback from clan members.
We DO NOT expect perfection - but we strive to get better and better with each war. If that is not your view of the game, then it's time to move on, and find another clan.
------------------------------
1. Declaration of Clan War:
We will declare a war when the clan is ready, and timing is right. That means:
2. Clan War Preparation:
In preparation, we want to study our opponents, properly load our war Clan Castles, and ensure our own bases are properly arranged and CC’s loaded.
4. Post War Activity:
When a team member is kicked, we request the kicker provide the reason(s) immediately after the kick in chat. That way, it validates the decision, and shows that we mean what we say relative to teamwork and team behavior. It’s truly the only way we can grow… We grow the right way, and we grow together. PERIOD.
Remember... What ever happens, its a game... Lets have some fun together!
We will declare a war when the clan is ready, and timing is right. That means:
- We’ve got the right players
- The right number of players
- Availability of those players to play
- Right timing – We typically initiate wars on Sunday or Monday (3pm Eastern), mid-week (3pm Eastern), and some weekends for an optional Speed War!. This allows for weekends off, and to build troop levels and upgrade defenses.
- We also do need a bit of time to reflect on what to do better, trim the clan as need be, and be sure of peoples availability (Holiday’s, etc.) - so some leader time is needed for those activities.
- We ask your patience in knowing that this isn’t an instantaneous process
- Clan wars are best initiated at the direction of our Leader. This should be a coordinated effort from the top, and not an individual decision. Our leader works with Co’s, Elders and members in making a decision to initiate a war.
2. Clan War Preparation:
In preparation, we want to study our opponents, properly load our war Clan Castles, and ensure our own bases are properly arranged and CC’s loaded.
- It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to load the Clan Castle below you in war. If you are no14 - you load no15. Even if the troops you donate are not maximum. If you do not have that particular troop, as for help in chat. A fellow clan member will certainly help out. The reason for this - is over the years, the same few people were stuck loading all the cc's. It's a huge burden for a few - or an easy task for us all.
- For Clan Castle requests - Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do we request giants, wall breakers, or other low-level / useless forces.
- We expect at our level to have experienced gamers. If you aren’t an experienced gamer – go elsewhere, and come back when you are ready.
- As a guide - attack your TH level within plus/minus two of your war position. If you are number 10 in war, then select plus/minus 2 (8-12). If nothing is available to your liking, then discuss this issue in chat - perhaps you will be designated for 'cleanup duty'.
- Participation in Wars is a must! If we go to war and you decide you don’t want to attack for whatever the reason may be, that will be looked at as inactivity and inactivity is grounds for being kicked from the clan. If you aren’t going to be around for a while, please tell someone so the clan can plan accordingly.
- Attack the target you selected in Clashcaller.com. If you do not have access to clashcaller.com, or your internet down - IT's NO EXCUSE. Ask in Chat, or wait! It's inappropriate to just attack whomever you want. (1 warning - then kick).
- No Town Hall sniping in Clan Wars. Yes, you may get 1-star - but you actually hurt the clan by wasting your attack. If you are caught doing this, it is grounds for being kicked from the clan. (No warning).
- Donate ONLY what is requested for people doing attacks. Put "FOR WAR" in your request to signal the need for the best troops to be donated. If someone is not specific on their war request, you should still ask to see if what you want to donate is what they would like. There is NO RUSH to push troops onto someone. It's VERY frustrating to receive a lvl2 Golem when someone else is online and has a level 5 ready to be donated.
- Cleanup attacks (your second attack) will be discussed in chat with a leader or co. We work together in clan war. Don't assume - talk about it BEFORE the attack.
- NOTE: Ignore the "Recommended Attack" feature in Clash of Clans. It's a horrible prediction algorithm, and is grounds for kick/demotion if you blindly follow it.
- Top players in the clan may be asked to withhold their last attack until the final few hours in case we need a push in stars to secure the win. An exception to this is if you won’t be around before war ends, then we ask you use both attacks at a time that is convenient to you.
- Clan members that are positioned in the bottom half of the war are asked to use both attacks as soon as they can without rushing their attacks. This way, the higher levels don’t have to come down and 3-star a base you were going to attack.
- Attack someone that is around your level, whether it’s a few above or a few below. As an example, if you are Number 2 on our map then it isn’t acceptable for you to go down and attack Number 14 on their map. This isn’t smart and won’t be tolerated. You may request an exception to this, and it will be considered given the best needs of the team.
- Ultimately - Clan Wars are a TEAM activity - Your decisions must reflect that which is best for the TEAM, and not your personal goal for treasure, or 'testing your skills'. Our goal is to win clan war events - and have fun. We believe we can do this best when we work as a team and cooperate.
4. Post War Activity:
- Whether we win or lose a clan war – we want to be gracious players. Under NO circumstances do we harass or exhibit poor behavior with respect to our opponents. We do have fun and banter with the other team - but it's done in good fun & not in violation of Terms of Service (TOS). Remember, it’s a game, and we govern ourselves as a mature clan, EVEN if that respect isn’t reciprocated. We do (and have) reported Terms of Service (TOS) violations and witnessed clans being disbanded and individuals being banned for harassment reasons.
- Whether we win or lose – as a post war activity, it’s important to self reflect. Did you get 3-Starred by an opponent? Did you watch the replay? – where & how did they attack? What forces were used? If you could have a “do-over” – and know that was their plan – what would you do to prevent the attack from being successful? This reflection may cause you to change your defense locations / base format, levels of defense (upgrades), or the troops you keep in the CC. It’s great to do that after every war.
- Similarly, look at your attacks – were they successful? Were you nervous (need practice)?, deploy the wrong troops at the wrong location? Put spells behind your troops (we all have at some time)? Not draw out the enemy cc troops, or knock out the Heros? These are all opportunities to reflect, learn & adapt! We expect this from our team members.
